About Me: I joined the Marywood University Admissions staff in September of 2006. I started as a graduate assistant working on open houses and other events. In December of 2006 I started my fulltime position as an admissions counselor for one of the local territories. In addition to recruiting and meeting with prospective students, I help organize and run our College for a Day program. I have a bachelor’s degree from Keystone College in Sport and Recreation Management and received my MBA from Marywood in May 2009. At Keystone I participated in cross country all 4 years and ran Nationals two years.
My Hobbies: My hobbies include running, figure skating, golf, traveling, dance, and pretty much anything else that requires some physical activity. When I’m not involved in any of those activities I like to watch sports, especially ice hockey, baseball, and football.
My Favorite Thing About Marywood: It’s hard for me to choose one favorite thing about Marywood. I appreciate the fact that Marywood goes to such great efforts to make sure the campus is clean and well maintained. The buildings are consistently being renovated and new projects are usually in the works. They really try to keep up with what is important to the students.
I also love the faculty. I have been in several MBA classes and the faculty members are exceptional. They can draw from their years of experience in the workplace and also their knowledge from textbooks. I am often surprised at what they have been involved in outside the classroom and how willing they are to help you reach your dreams.
My Favorite Place On Campus: I have two favorite places on campus. The first is the Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness. I love to go to the gym at the end of the day and forget about everything else. The rock climbing wall gives me a challenge I don’t find many other places. My other favorite place on campus is the Rotunda. The beauty of the Rotunda forces me to stare every time I walk in. I still haven’t gotten used to how outstanding it is.
You'd Never Guess: Something that not many people know about me is the fact that I enjoy watching professional wrestling. I know it sounds crazy but it is just the active soap opera I need in my life. There is nothing like the insanity of a WWE event.
My Best Advice: My advice for students is to take your time and find the right school and major for you. Really look inside yourself to figure out the right environment for you. Everyone in your life is going to have an opinion but at the end of the day you are the one who has to put in the work. If you are unhappy at the school or in the major you choose it will only make your time in college more difficult. Once you find the right school, make sure you get involved in a wide variety of activities. This is your chance to learn about yourself and meet new friends. Take advantage of the experience.
